How The Vegawatt™ Is Sized
Vegawatt™ systems are built to consume all the WVO produced in your kitchen, targeting a 70% time utilization requirement. Why 70%? We want to allow some unused capacity so that if your restaurant has an exceptionally busy week - or somehow your fryers get contaminated - that you can dump the waste vegetable oil into your Vegawatt without any worries about overloading the system.
What Size Vegawatt™ Do You Need?
A Vegawatt system is sized based upon how much oil your restaurant produces weekly. As the weekly oil consumption range of each size Vegawatt overlaps, there are several usage options to precisely fit the needs of your foodserivce operations. A larger sized unit focuses on reducing high peak power prices, whereas a smaller unit, running 24/7 will produce renewable power with the lowest capital expenditure. Where your oil production varies seasonally, we have some great options to increase the value of your investment.
| 4 kW System: | Will consume 30 to 50 gallons of WVO per week. Provides an automated production of 4 kW of electricity & can produce up to 2920 kWh per month. |
| 5 kW System: | Will consume 40 to 65 gallons of WVO per week. Provides an automated production of 5 kW of electricity & can produce up to 3650 kWh per month. |
| 6 kW System: | Will consume 45 to 75 gallons of WVO per week. Provides an automated production of 6 kW of electricity & can produce up to 4380 kWh per month. |
| 8 kW System: | Will consume 55 to 80 gallons of WVO per week. Provides an automated production of 8 kW of electricity & can produce up to 5840 kWh per month. |
| 10 kW System: | Will consume 70 to 100 gallons of WVO per week. Provides an automated production of 10 kW of electricity & can produce up to 7300 kWh per month. |
| 12 kW System: | Will consume 90 to 120 gallons of WVO per week. Provides an automated production of 12 kW of electricity & can produce up to 8760 kWh per month. Recommended for producers of large volumes of WVO or locations where WVO is easily locally aggregated. |
